A Legacy of Leadership and Innovation

We are thrilled to share that Kevin Queenin, one of our owners of Specialty Bolt & Screw, has been honored with the 2019 Fastener Professional of the Year award by the National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA). This prestigious award recognizes individuals and companies for their substantial positive impact on the fastener industry.

Kevin’s journey with SBS began in 1982 when he joined as vice president and general manager. Under his leadership, SBS transformed from a modest $1 million company into a global powerhouse with sales exceeding $50 million. Today, SBS boasts distribution centers across the United States, Mexico, Canada, Finland, and Taiwan, offering premier inventory management solutions.

Kevin’s strategic vision and commitment to excellence have been pivotal in this growth. By leveraging technology, prioritizing superior customer service, and ensuring product quality, he has positioned SBS as a leading provider in the fastener industry. His dedication extends beyond business success, as he has been a mentor and friend to many within the industry, fostering a culture of collaboration and support.

Contributions to the Fastener Industry

Kevin’s influence stretches beyond SBS. As a founding member of the iPower Distribution Group, he contributed to designing and managing supply chain solutions for C commodities and high-value components. His role in the Global Supply Alliance (GSA) further underscores his commitment to advancing the fastener industry.

In addition to his professional achievements, Kevin has actively participated in various industry associations. He served on the Board of Directors for both the New England Fastener Distributions Association and the NFDA, where he also chaired the Information and Technology Committee and represented the association on the Fastener Quality Act coalition.

A Commitment to Community

Kevin’s commitment to community service is equally noteworthy. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Westfield State University, where he has served on the Board of Trustees and currently chairs the Westfield State University Foundation. His involvement extends to the Noble Hospital Board of Trustees and several civic organizations in western Massachusetts.

Celebrating with Family and Community

Beyond his professional and civic engagements, Kevin cherishes time with his family. Married to his wife, Barbara, for 48 years, he enjoys golf, skiing, travel, and spending time with their four grandchildren.

Kevin will be formally recognized for his achievements at the NFDA Executive Summit on November 3-5, 2019, at the Ritz-Carlton Beach Resort in Naples, Florida. This award is a testament to his unwavering dedication and exemplary contributions to the fastener industry.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Kevin Queenin’s remarkable achievements and his ongoing commitment to excellence in the fastener industry. His leadership continues to inspire those around him, driving innovation and setting a standard for future generations.
